- **Event Description**: Join Seqwater for a behind-the-scenes look at Ewen Maddock Dam and Water Treatment Plant!About this EventNestled near Landsborough on the Sunshine Coast, Ewen Maddock Dam has been quietly serving the community since it was built in two stages — first in 1976, then again in 1983 — across Addlington Creek, a tributary of the Mooloolah River.Today, Ewen Maddock Dam plays a role in South East Queensland’s drinking water supply. When it’s full, it can hold a massive 16,587 million litres of water—that’s enough to fill over 6,600 Olympic swimming pools!The dam wall itself stretches 660 metres, which is about the same as lining up 41 of the iconic Big Pineapples end-to-end. The dam’s catchment area spans 21 square kilometres, collecting rainwater from the surrounding landscape.During the guided tour, you will learn more about Ewen Maddock Dam and how Seqwater safely treats water in the nearby Water Treatment Plant.Important InformationMinimum age requirement: 🎒Visitors must be at least eight years old. Guests aged 8-18 must be accompanied by an adult.Safety Requirements🦺 As this is an operational site, safety is our top priority. All guests are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site:✅ Sun-safe clothing (long sleeved shirts and long trousers mandatory)✅ Wide brim hat.✅Enclosed flat shoes✅Sunglasses (optional).For your safety, anyone not meeting these PPE requirements will not be allowed to participate in the tour.Photography & Filming: 📸 Filming is not allowed during the tour. However, you are welcome to take photos in designated areas, as indicated by your tour guide.Sun Protection:🌞 Please ensure you apply sunscreen and wear a hat for sun protection during your visit.Parking: Free parking is available at the Maddock Park recreation area, which is the meeting point for this tour. There are also other parking bays available nearby if Maddock Park is at capacity.Mobility: To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort during the visit, please note that this is a guided walking tour of an operational site.
